Sebastian Chuwa is one of Tanzania's leading safari guides and botanists. Sebastian has been conducting safaris throughout Tanzania since the 1980's and has developed a reputation as one of the finest naturalists in the country. In addition to his wide guiding knowledge of Africa's wildlife and his botanical studies, Sebastian also has an in-depth knowledge of Tanzania's natural history and ethnic culture, accompanied with a charming personality.
Sebastian's interest in botany led him to discover a completely new plant species in the Ngorongoro Highlands, and this has been named after him. He has also been nominated for the prestigious Rolex Award for his work in propagating indigenous tree species on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. In February 2002 the Olympic Committee honoured his conservation efforts by presenting him with the Spirit of the Land Award in person during a visit to Salt Lake City, USA.
Sebastian has guided many of our clients over the years, all of whom testify to his outstanding knowledge and wide range of skill, which add hugely to the success of a safari.
Born in 1974 in Zimbabwe Lisa Reed grew up and spent her school years in South Africa before studying Tour Operations before working with many Safari camps. Lisa lives in Botswana and enjoys nothing more than passing on her knowledge of Africa and in particular the Botswana Bush.
Lisa is wonderful as a family safari guide as she has a natural affinity with children and enjoys guiding safaris to suit both the ages and interests of the children and adults. Her safaris are unique, completely family orientated and adventurous. Lisa has that quality so valued by children - enthusiasm. Lisa works hard to ensure that the parents relax and the children are educated, have fun and enjoy - what more could you want.
