Chiawa Camp is run and owned by the Cummings family. The camp epitomizes what is best in guiding, setting, attention to detail and sheer friendliness. Chiawa has nine spacious suited tents all with en-suite bathrooms. Each tent is set out on its own elevated timber decking that command fantastic panoramic views of the slow moving but vast Zambezi River. The insect proof tents have twin or double beds, solar lighting and large part open en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water.
The honeymoon suite is well thought out and exudes a very romantic feel. The extra special large claw footed bathtub overlooks the river. Complimented by champagne bush breakfasts, outdoor barbecues under the stars and lunch on a riverboat a honeymoon at Chiawa camp is a very memorable experience. There is a pool, spacious lounge with views over the river and upstairs viewing deck.
Elephant are daily visitors to the camp. An elephant wandering past your tent is quite usual at Chiawa, they gently walk through the camp to get to the Zambezi's banks to play, drink and swim out to islands with just the tips of their trunks and the tops of their heads showing.
Anyone who wants to try their hands at tiger fishing might catch a fish up to 20lbs and be assured of a good fight! A strict catch-and-release policy is observed.Read about honeymoon safaris to Africa
