A visit to Egypt is to go 4,000 years back in time when an astonishingly advanced civilisation constructed the giant pyramids, temples and immense palaces.

Egypt's greatest attractions are located on either side of the Nile in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. Africa Exclusive will construct you the perfect itinerary, with the travel at a pace that personally suits you and see the sights that interest you.

This means that you can explore at your own pace and focus upon the things that interest you the most, rather than being part of a large group. This is best achieved if you fly from place to place, staying at magnificent 19th century hotels like the Old Winter Palace which can be your base for seeing the astonishing Necropolis of Thebes and Osiris and the Valley of the Kings and Queens.

Further up the river you will be able to find an equally splendid hotel in Aswan. The Old Cataract was built under the orders of the original Thomas Cook, it has a large swimming pool, tennis courts and breath-taking Nile views. From here you can fly to Abu Simbel where there are two magnificent temples which were famously removed from the threat of immersion in Lake Nasser to their current site over a period of four years. They were raised sixty metres up the sand stone cliff where they had been built 3,000 years before.
