Kenya Safari

A breathtakingly beautiful country including the great plains of the Masai Mara with its annual wildebeest migration, Rift Valley lakes full of waterbirds and semi desert regions such as Samburu and Lake Turkana

Traditional Vehicle Safaris

For many years Kenya has perfected the Land Rover or minibus safari. Africa Exclusive only arranges private vehicle safaris where you have sole use of the vehicle and an expert guide who is guaranteed to be highly experienced and a good companion. You can explore the country, passing through magnificent scenery and using your vehicle for personal night or day game drives as well.

This style of safari can be good for families whose children are more suited to vehicle safaris than to walking and canoeing. Vehicle safaris of this kind are often between seven to ten days exploring three different parts of the country and often conclude with a week or so by the sun drenched coastline where we can arrange for you to stay in whatever size or style of hotel that suits you best.

Fly-in Safaris

Some superb small safari lodges and camps in recent years have opened in remote and beautiful areas, accessible via light aircraft. These include Elsa's Kopje, the only safari lodge in the entire Meru National Park set on a huge granite outcrop, each thatched cottage having spectacular views for a dozen miles across virgin territory. Shompole is perched on the edge of the Rift Valley close to Lake Natron where vast flocks of flamingos come to breed and where you can walk with scarlet clad Masai tracking wildlife through rich dense rainforest.

Kenya's coastline is home to some of the most idyllic hideaways such as Kiwayu which lies seventy miles north of Lamu on mile after mile of deserted beach, or Funzi Keys which has its own private island.

Kenya is best visited at any time of the year other than April and May when the long rains fall.

Why choose to spend your safari vacation in Kenya?

Kenya has some of Africa's most amazing scenery with lakes, volcanoes, immense grassy plains and a beautiful coastline. If you go between July and September you can see the world's greatest wildlife migration in the Masai Mara. You can meet the Maasai and other tribes if you wish and learn about the local culture. You can choose the more remote and adventurous fly-in route or the traditional vehicle-based route.
