The Nyika Plateau rises to over 8,000ft and can provide remarkable walking and horseback safaris. Lake Malawi itself has several exclusive beach hotels, some remotely set out on little islands, where you can enjoy fantastic snorkelling, diving, waterskiing and sailing. Malawi combines excellently with a safari in Zambia.
At the southern most tip of Lake Malawi are the Liwonde wetlands, bearing a slight resemblance to the Okavango Delta here you can enjoy boating, walks and game drives by open vehicle, seeing elephant, rhinoceros and antelope, and over 350 species of beautiful birds.
The best time to visit Malawi is from April to the end of October.
