Zambia is regarded as the home of the walking safari. This itinerary is perfect for those that want to embrace the magical experience of discovering the African wilderness on foot with expert guides by your side.

Day 1
Arrival in Lusaka where you will be met by your local driver for your private transfer to your hotel.
Rest if the day at leisure to relax and unwind.
Overnight on a bed and breakfast basis at the Latitude 15°

Day 2
Early transfer to the airport for your flight to Mfuwe Airport, gateway to the South Luangwa National Park. On arrival you will be met by your local guide for your transfer your camp, just north of the Nsefu sector of the South Luangwa National Park.
After settling in to the camp enjoy lunch before heading out on your first afternoon safari in open 4×4 safari vehicles in search of Africa’s big game.
Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Days 3 and 4
Two full days at Tafika to explore this remote area of the South Luangwa National Park. Morning and afternoon drives in open safari vehicles are complimented by the opportunity to enjoy mountain bike safaris or visits to local villages.

Day 5
Make an early start from camp as you start the walking safari section of your stay. Walk with your expert guide from Tafika to your camp. All your luggage will be separately brought to the camp, allowing you to just enjoy the walk and take in all the excitement of the bush. A hearty brunch will be served at the camp, and time to relax before heading out on an afternoon safari walk. Return by sunset to enjoy dinner under the African night sky.

Day 6
A full day at Crocodile River Camp with morning and afternoon walking safaris. Typically, the safaris last three to four hours over generally flat terrain. As the camp is located in a very remote area of the park you are unlikely to experience any other guests, allowing you a truly unspoilt wilderness experience.

Day 7
After breakfast depart for your walk back to Tafika (approximately 1 hour) where you will be met for the short transfer to the Lukuzi airstrip for your light aircraft flight to the Mwaleshi Airstrip in the North Luangwa National Park. Here you will be met for the short transfer to Mwaleshi Camp.
Settle in to the camp and enjoy lunch and time to relax before your afternoon walking safari, returning to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Days 8 and 9
Two full days at Mwaleshi Camp in Zambia’s remote and wild North Luangwa National Park. This park is given over almost exclusively to walking safaris and retains a very wild air about it. The terrain is more varied than the south and is home to certain different species of game. Here you will enjoy twice daily walking safaris under the guidance of your expert guide (and armed National Park scout). A vehicle is also based at the camp to take guests to various spots within the park from which to start the walking safaris, ensuring that you can discover varied areas during your stay.

Day 10
Bid a fond farewell to this very special corner of Africa as you transfer back to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Mfuwe Airport for your connecting flight to Lusaka Airport and onwards connections.
